Laptop Problem

Post by kam99 »

I am unable to run CoI on my laptop. It installs okay, but when I click on 'play' I get the message, "CC3.exe has encountered a problem & needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience".

It is a Dell Inspiron 6000, Pentium M 1.60 GHz with 1 GB of RAM. My OS in Win XP SP2.

I have previously successfully installed my CoI download on a desktop so am sure it is not a corrupt download.

I have reinstalled on the laptop several times and have experimented with several installations. Current is full (game, MS Net and Java).

I have run DXDIAG and it is reporting no problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please disregard above. Downloaded latest Intel video driver and that appears to have done the trick. Lesson learned. Apologies if I have inconvenienced anybody.

Hi,

I'm interested about the laptop issue. I had posted about the same exe problem as mikewjohnston a few days ago. I've got a Sony VAIO and ran a diagnositc but didn't hear back from the Matrix Games team yet.

I wonder if I could take a similar solution to yours...updating drivers somehow...

Here's my diagnostic results btw.

i have a toshiba A80, bout a year and half old, XP etc..

i installed all the options from CoI download. the command icon , once i hit 'play' i got constant exe crashes.

then i simply right click on the command centre icon, hit properties, compatibility, clicked on 'win98' apply...problem solved!
