directx 10 with vista

Post by ajp71 »

i Just downloaded Tin Soldiers: Julius Ceasar and when I go to install the game it says I dont have an updated version of directx and I should let the program install directx 9C. I am currently running Windows Vista with directx 10...is there a fix to get the game working??...

Thanks for the help

We're working on testing all our games with Vista, so I don't have an answer for you yet.

However, the key for the Tin Soldiers games is that they use "Managed" DirectX which is a separate component. I would try manually running the dotnetfx and mdxredist files in the /redist sub-folder of your installation folder, then reboot and see if that works.

Hello,

Where would those files be. The exe of the game won't even run until I tell it to "update" to directx 9c. I hit cancel and the game doesnt go forward witht he install.

Thanks

Just let it install directx9. It won't overwrite Dx10 and it should allow you to play.

I had the same problem with K's Panzer Command it all worked fine by just letting it get on with it [:D]
