Once again we have been given the oportunity to fight on the right flank of the British advance against the Germans. I assume because of our knowledge of desert warfare is the reason we have been given the worst landscape I have ever seen to advance across. Lots of small hillocks and cutbacks and low waddies to cross.
The companys in the north dont have far to reach there objectives and have the time to set up before the Germans can reach them. But the company that is advancing in the south has at least 500 feet to advance and it is going to be slow due to the ground they have to cross. It is evening and the sun has begun to go down lessoning the heat somewhat. But it is clear as a bell and the visability is way too long for us to be under the german guns. It is at 1150 feet will put us at a disadvantage im sure.
Will be able to set my big guns up on some low hillocks in the north to give the advancing troops some cover. I believe most of our support guns are self propelled and this will help moving them for sight advantage. We did not get any transport for any thing from supply, they said they just did not have any thing extra in after the British made there requests.
The men are really up for this a little pay back for Paris and the Nazi oocupation of our homeland. Every piece of equipment is in top working order and the men are rested and rarin to fight. Viva La Paree and Honer to France today.

The Germans are throwing a lot of heavy tanks our way. So far at least 12 of them have been blown to bits and an awful lot of there infantry has gone the same way.
We have an awful lot of our troops in deep suppression due to the fact the Germans are throwing a lot of heavy shells our way. Plus five minutes or so ago there Stukas came in and tore us up. Took out 2 105s of ours plus there crews and a char B1 plus alot of troops that were clustered around a recon car in the front line. Lost a command squad from 1st platoon C Co. They have throwed everthing at us for the last 20 minutes.
They have moved up and taken 1 flag each from the north and south objectives. we are within 50 feet of the north and center objectives. But have been holding off waiting on the enemy to get closer. we are still at least 200 feet from the southern objective and moving very cautiously only 50 feet at a time and taking out the enemy as we move forward.
The men are still in good spirits and still have a positive outlook about todays battle. I believe I am going to bring my heavier tanks forward to engage the enemy tanks at a closer gap then they are firing now.
The guns I have set up on a ridge to cover the advancing troops have already taken out several of the enemy tanks at long range. But now they are starting to recieve a lot of artty fire and i will have to move them off the ridge im sure.

The battle looks very bleak for us at the moment. We continue to take out there tanks like 4 or 5 every five minutes. But they continue to send them at us. Has to be like 5 companys of tanks comin at us. I know we have taken out at least 30 tanks so far and that number may be even higher. The acompaning photo shows the three objectives and the mass of tanks attacking all three. More to follow this report.

A company in the south has been assaulted by at least 3 companys of tanks. Our men have managed to take out at least three of these monsters by close assault. I must say something here the rifle grenades the men carry are next to usless. Even if they hit the tanks its like throwing rocks at them. And they dont even seem to hit the tanks but once out of 75 shots. The support guns A have backin them up have taken out well over 15 tanks. If it wasnt for them A would have been overrun long ago.
Also when this battle is over if any of us survive I must see about getting our 25mm SPAA guns replaced. They too have been next to usless. They are not very accuate at all. Missing more then they hit and very seldom even denting the tanks they fire at.
Right now we are at 78% fighting strength and losing more as time goes on. The German tanks are right up into our lines. We have lost almost all our light recon tanks to this relentes assault by the enemy. At least 3 Char D1s have been blown to smithereens and we have lost 2 of our SP 105s. I have seen our 105s hit some of the German tanks dead on, and the shells just bounce right off there heavy armor. We have hit some tanks at least 15 times with every thing from 105 75 and 47mm to no effect. The photo shows some of the tank force assaulting the southern objectives where A company is trying to hold them.
We are not giving up yet this force is composed of veterans and elite fighting men. And they will not give ground im sure. Have had no runners so far to deal with. Even tho we are outnumbered by the enemys force and have been hit constantly with the enemys bombardment.

An hour and ten minutes this battle has raged. We have taken back all the forward objectives. Also we have inflicted heavy losses to the Germans today. We also have been hurt well over 300 men are down. We have lost at least 35 units so far. Almost all our recon units have been blown to bits. But still our men continue to press forward against very heavy odds.
I dont see how the enemy can continue to throw so much armor at us. At least 60 tanks I have personally counted are lying strewn all over the battle field. they are nothing but burnt and torn apart hulks of the once great machines they were. Less then 25 minutes ago I counted at least 40 tanks comin at us. Now from reports im getting from the front lines only about 15 tanks are still in operating condition. Every 5 minutes we take out at least 5 more of there units either squads or armor or sections . At least a thousand or more bodies lie strewn all over the battle field as well.
There is a sgt in command of a squad in A company I am personally recomending for a medal. With in five minutes he took out single handly two squads by hisself. His body count went from 22 to 24 And I heard a few minutes ago that has climbed even higher. Sending you a copy of his service record. Please look into the medal for him I highly recommned him.
I have given the order for our tanks and our guns to move forward and off the ridges. This is so thay can get closer to our front lines and take out the remaining tanks the enemy has roaming around still.

Here is a photo of the carnage of the german armor. You can see what A company had to put up with today. This is the southern objective area. After the Germans had taken the objectives they swung north west towards the center area. This gave our southern tanks and guns the opertunity to fire at there rears as they moved north. There was also over a company of troops following the tanks that had to be delt with after the tanks moved off. A tough fight for A company but they hung in even with heavy losses and managed to survive.

It took two hours and 10 minutes to rout the remaining German force. And believe me there was not much left of there force after we got thru with them. They had at the start of this battle 114 tanks they sent at us. We blew 113 of them to hell and back. Also sent 1741 of there troops to hell along with the tanks. Took out 15 of there artty and 8 of there apcs. Once we had defeated most of there tank force and began to move to the rear, we found a heck of a lot of abandoned tanks which our men took great glee in stuffing explosives down there gun muzzles and blowing them to pieces. They were running around from one tank to the other stuffing explosives as fast as they could down the muzzles.
Still dont know how we missed that lone tank we were looking all over the battle field for tank crews that had run from there vehicles and was shooting every one we could find.
A lot of our core have become elite troops and way more then half are vets. We are now becoming a very able and efficent group of fighting men. We lost 465 of our brave comrads today along with 5 artty and 37 pieces of our armor. Not what you want to see but we were facing a very heavy armor force today.
I am very proud of the men I have to command. They never give up and fight to the death for the glory of France. We have been given orders we are to move to Tobruk and advance against another strong German force trying to breech the defenses of Tobruk. We will have time to replace our lost men and repair all equipment before we have to advance once again. It will not be until the 15th of next month.
