MMCC3: Full Map Update Fails

Post by Prince of Eckmühl »

In trying to connect to a game this evening, I get the following error message after apparently successfully connecting to any one of the three ports on the MMCC3 server:

Is there a problem with the server?

Update to my "ticket:"

I tried changing the TIME OUT parameter under OPTIONS from two minutes to five.

No joy.

Well, this is gonna be interesting.

About the only thing that I did differently was attempt to go to MMCC3 via the Command Center rather than a shortcut on my programs menu.

Apparently the Command Center method doesn't work unless the target app is set to compatiblity mode.

Anyway, I'll give it a while and then try again.

Thanks,

About 03:45z the issue resolved itself.

The "full map update" function in MMCC3 began working again and I was able to fully access the application.

When I tried to report the event back here, I kept getting a "server timed-out" message from Firefox.

I was able to visit other websites without difficulty.

Honestly, I think that there was some sort of problem on y'alls end.

As of 17:12z, MMCC3 is once again timing out during the "full map update" portion of the client initialization.

I had not seen this happen before yesterday evening.

My configuration has not changed other than a complete reinstall that I did to try and resolve the problem detailed in my post(s) above.

I have no mods or plugins installed other than that for MMCC3.

MS VM is installed along with the .Net software.

I have no software firewall or otherwise extraneous software running, the appropriate ports are open with a static LAN IP.

Suggestions?

Thanks for the feedback Schrecken.

As of 17:40z, MMCC3 is back up.

It strikes me that it's performance is inversely associated with that of the Matrix site.

When MMCC3 is working, the website seems to be either awfully sluggish, or not working at all.

Wouldn't stake my life or reputation on that though (lol), might just be how the dice are rolling today.

Perhaps Matrix should provide us with periodic "weather reports" on its network functions! [:'(]

Thanks again,

Looks to me like they all run off of the same server.

hence , any server problems effect the entire Matrix World.
