RHS Allied Tag Team Call to Colors

Post by el cid again »

RHS Levels 5 and 6 will freeze in the next day or two (really). While art may lag slightly - the Axis team will begin turn preparation from that moment - and one week later will submit it for the Allied team to reply to. This is the time to decide who has what role - in case there are any changes? Also to refamiliarize yourself with the form EOS has taken - and the many new Allied units (in particular Soviet units of all kinds and Allied amphibious and minor vessels). All requests for changes probably have been processed - but you have about one day to review that as well.

Primary eratta is now entered - and Martin is doing a manual review (having exhausted utility reviews). We will freeze Thursday (Alaska time). Mifune and I are going to do a Japanese turn. I believe Martin still intends to play. The Allied team has about a week to form up and familiarize with the revised system - and the current releases are close enough to do that. All we are doing is error punching. Nothing is under development.

Note, however, it is possible we will introduce the summer map in time for our first summer - and possibly the winter map for the winter after that. But we are starting the first winter with the normal map - which will also be the spring map. It also is not certain we will do seasonal maps at all. But since the art is done for summer - we think we can. I must do a pwhex - and then we have to do a hex by hex analysis to see if we missed anything?

We will proceed as long as we are learning things, having fun, and/or the situation is interesting. Hopefully we will have Level 7 ready by the time we decide to stop. Again, it isn't certain there will be a Level 7 - but it now appears there will. The data files are at present level - the raw maps are done - and what remains is to convert a pwhex file - and then work out the details for the revised map. The only thing that makes that daunting is the sheer size of the revised area (mainly Australia) involves a lot of pwhex coding. But I have become pretty efficient - and have learned how to use Excel as a tool on this file. Probably we will have a Level 7 bye and bye.
