David - Which of these is correct ???

Post by elmerlee »

The log file and the stat recap are WAY off whan compared to each other. I started by checking the tackles and they are not really even close to being the same.

In my first league game(stock league-no mods)one player had FOUR in the log file and ELEVEN in the recap. Another had 4 in the recap and 7 in the log file. Almost all were off one way or the other. Double and triple checked so I had no mistake.

Had intended to check some other stats but maybe all stats are known too be off?

The recap should be considered accurate. The 'play by play' in the game log, is a work in progress, but it should be correct too. If a player tackles another, that player gets the stat (which is used in the recap) and the play by play on the screen displays what happened. That play by play that is displayed on the screen is what is used to generate the log file. It's possible that in the process of cycling through all the play result to generate the log, that something is going wrong though.

Other than the negative interception yards bug that I know of, the stats should be accurate.

David:

Thanks for the early attention.

I guess you are saying that the totals in the game recap are correct. Just as a further check I thought I'd start a new game and check each play as it appeared in the screen.

I quit after just two plays and looked at the stats. There were two tackles which were both credited in the stat recap to players different than those shown on the screen after the play. So there is an error occuring somewhere. It must be very frequent.

I'm assuming it's just the players involved in tackles?

well i have only four logs that got saved and I have done checks on rushing stats on six runners. Found one rather large variation and another small one.

At first I thought it was related to TDs' since the errors were with players who rushed for a TD but I can't get that connected. Since fumbles do not show up as carries or yardage that is an omission for sure. It could be there is a relationship but that will take some more occurences to nail down.

There is another error on fumbles related to pass completions. If the receiver catches the ball and then fumbles no attempt or completion is recorded for the passer. I forgot to check the receiver stats but I'll bet that doesn't show either.

As long as I'm going on the "no FD on a TD" error is still there. I'm sure I saw where you were aware of that but just in case. Don't know about other leagues but in the NFL a "TD on a play from scrimage"
is a FD for sure.(not on KOR,PR,INT ret or FUMB ret)
