Starshatter - install, patch

Post by rainbowbeamer »

[8D] - Just purchased Starshatter "The Gathering Storm" retail in English.

After installing game and patch in regular mode (removed due to bugs then again) and safe mode, the game is not presenting well, the pictures are transparent and the spacecreaft carrier is not present as more then a shadow.

I have left the game on computer with patch instaled but no pictures rendered well yet in space especially.

When I play on ground operation in campaign mode, the flight school, the control towers are shadowie instead of opaque.

I got better rendering from the first Starshatter in a free demo from gamers sight after install. After the full version was install and patch added, I find I am experienceing the same bugs before and after patch and never seen on the demo origional Starshatter.

Graphics fine here.

I suspect it is your computers graphics card limitations or old video drivers that need to be updated to the latest version.

Have you experimented with turning your graphic options down in the game?

I found this website. [&o]

http://driveragent.com

Now I have the ATI card updated with the Catalyst drivers. I've improved my graphics, but still get a jig saw like textures interference pattern while the game mostly fills out well on the lower setting for texture. [:D]

Here is the rest of the downloads I need directs to find and get on my system, can suscribe to driver service next month.

One of the recent microsoft updates seized my computer, the IDE update for XP home. Reverted in safe mode to last known good configuration.

My computers diagnosis needs driver update scan ...

I'm limping along.

Addressed the issues as best I could, made a little more progress but overall I'm disturbed.

Any good faith effort to make corrections comes back with an argument like chip set not recognised or some uncompatible issue is suggested by following out the leads from the driver evaluation to most likely download sites.

I'm sick of this junk called programmers, computers, automation, obsolesence and incompatability.

$35.00 and just agraivations from a sold but not refined product or a plug up opportunity from maunufacturer to straighten out the system to play game.

Cheap jewed down shit is the idea here always in economy, products and slave to "service". Ya, that is a twenty to answer how to fix your automation run ragged by hacker and other such shit demon spirits. Here have a vunerable XP from Windows, the Macro-extorters.

I hope the planet rolls over, changes polerity and all your "advances" are run up your asses.

Fuck computers and computer people.

Refunds, service, a product that works, NEVER, never, just fucks with barbered wired condems.

My, my... such a unjustified temper tantrum. The game runs just fine on my computer.

It isn't the game. It's your computer. Try not to blame others or other things for your deficient hardware. [8|]

This is just uncalled for...

whatever issue you are having the game does work. Sure it has bugs and might be a little tempermental about how a machine is configured. But it works, others here are living proof.

You are not the only person that came here with similar issues and many have worked them out. They asked nicely and got answers, some took days to get fixed, others maybe longer.

Point being, they got it working.

Try a little patience and you might get through this problem.

Start firing the big guns and likely no one will give you the time of day.

remember, this is just a game. If it was the cost that has you so fired up, then perhaps you should stick to demos, they are cheaper.

One other note...You should seriously consider anger managment class.

No offense, but this is not worth that kind of extreme...

I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.[:)]

Wrote long complaint/redress letter about industry and this flash point, the letter got sucked into nowhere, forum server timed out - cheap jew phucks.

Another computer gift from the idiots on board.

I'm sick of you advise, recomondations, any idea you are help - already paid for that at the register, got home with junk. My computer is fine, you product does not perform.

Let end this amicably, send me the origional starshatter and you can eat your improved product. [>:]

So what is the deal here. I reverted back to origional video drivers, the Catalyst was draging processes down, opening installed Search and Rescue 4 to play in particular .......

Thought to try new demo .... DEMO VERSION 3.9.4 .... and I'm shocked. A totally different positive experience occured. Discounting the voice overs during game play on Gathering Storm full version during flight school are not played, I am very satisfied with this experience. Better then my origional demo experience.

Recall a small change to BIOS that was left in place after the merry download go rounds.

I'm satisfied to just hit a few blimpships and fly into orbit and vegitate. More game play in the future will come.

I bought Starshatter because I played the demo origional and felt like it was time to do you the return favor and buy the full game for the fun I had at your expense.

Maybe the full version will go as well for some reason now.

So I'm in the middle of the river and thinking about changing horses.

Why the inconsistencies and lessons needing to be learned. No one buys a car and expects to clean the fuel injectors at home to get it to drive right.

You can have thanks for the demos, especially the new one .... why do you still justify "others fixed their troubles".

People got limited time to play, I got all day and night as SSDI collector. You robbing people of valuable time to get the game to work. The people with limited time need to use it to learn game play and features, not trouble shoot. Gamers are here for fun not work.

My dissatisfaction with the computer business in general is huge. Will not bore you with all details but will ask you big brains .... "What would God 1.01 (crawls and fixes all incompatibilities and has omniscent awarness to make things right) be and why would you need God 1.02 ever"?

And "Have the Patents on the Cosmic Gifts Expired Yet" -- God

So what horse do I ride now, the new demo, expect the full version to work now as well or what ....................

temper tantrum repair

Here is a blurb a responce about anger management - where does it come from, anger? I know I do not like it.

I'm not alone. So here is for us here.

Would anybody believe my mom is German and I may have been nurtured a little on the "attack 'em" mentality side? It do get me still.

This genuinly represents my intrests and directions, the bike I LOVE to ride. But fall off of too often, a moment ruins a days worth of joy - raatts.

All this makes sense until I need to go hunting to get baby girl a chicken nugget. I'd rather gather as normal, gather meat jerky or road kill, that could be a more cosmic nicer way to get meat protein, or eat and not bury the deceased or stem cell from algae and "petri-dish" a extruded bacon, ham or prime rib. Yeh, more not paranoid animals to play with and not hurt.

Also found these things lately to restore ....

Up, up and away to space today, rather see the spaceship wars end and drag racing begin.

Coast Guard choppers Search and Rescue is my favorite, occasional dead deliveries, Jet Fighter 5 a challenge, look out, incoming, can get 10 Migs myself often. I like to go into orbit with starshatter and mess with my wing angel, sometime we collide when I press.
