Just used the green button for the first time...

Post by goodboyladdie »

After reading the thread Marky started in reply to Irrelevant I used the green button as suggested to block Marky's posts. I had an instant feeling of calm and the silence on the forum is now almost deafening. What a fantastic invention![:)]

Putting Marky on your ignore list is your perogative goodboyladdie, but posting a thread advertising the fact is trolling for a flame fest IMHO.

I like Marky's posts. He's always enthusiastic and good-natured, and there's room for all sorts in these forums.

And his avatar is... mesmerising.
While the battles the British fight may differ in the widest possible ways, they invariably have two common characteristics – they are always fought uphill and always at the junction of two or more map sheets.

It was the existence of the green button I was trumpeting.

I sometimes find Marky amusing and I too enjoy his "bouncy" side. It is nice to be able to take a break from him when he has too much sugar (which seems to be often!). In my opinion he went too far in his screw you attitude to some legitimate complaints. While I appreciate he has problems with ADHD or something, the forum is not his private (or even public) playpen. Yes he has the right to be as (over) enthusiastic as he likes, but I have the right to filter him out by using the marvellous green button if I so choose. I started this thread to pay homage to the green button.

He seems to be a nice lad, but I don't always want to see him all (and I mean ALL) over the forum. I am happy to accommodate his more boisterous moments, but perhaps he could appreciate that sometimes he is a bit too much and his illness is not an excuse to disregard others....

How did the two of you happen to hook up? Those two places are not exactly "over the fence" from one another. Bet there's a good story involved....

Wonders of Internet...[8D]. First contact we had was actually on IrC channel for martial arts years ago. We found out that we like similar things (tho cannot get her into playing wargames...[:'(]) and started to talk..and talk..and talk. And after a while we decided to meet..and then we decided hook up permanently. [8D] That wouldn't have worked in old times without Net...

It plays havoc with my WitP-time nowadays..but I prefer to sleep in bed and get good food rather than play WitP all the time...[:D]
