Games not showing up in Saved menu

I recently tried to get a game started with a first time player and talked him thru zipping files and sending them and all that and near as i can tell everything is being done right except...a problem cropped up after the first turn ..i recived the PBEM files and it ask me for his password and it looked like it was set to play his turn ...
We assumed some file handling was improperly done so we dumped all the PBEM files and restarted the game ...I generated the game in slot 7 and sent it to him.. he says the files cam thru fine he put them in the right place but the game does not show on the saved game list for him to access to click on to play, slot 7 says empty ..any help any clues any ideas ??
