MAC compatibility?

Hi there, I'm getting the feeling that I'm not going to be able to run the exe. of the version of AWD I have (most recent full build from the dev FTP site) please confirm.

It is built for Windows, I don't think you'll get it to work on a MAC unless you have some kind of Windows wrapper for it to interface through.

GGWAW/AWD has always been Windows only, I believe.

Tsk, Tsk (read Gosh darnit this REALLY SUCKS!) This MAC is the only platform I have right now, I guess I am out of business indefinitely............no GG for me, nor any more AWD for that matter.......I'll probably still hang around this forum though, circling, watching, waiting............kinda like a pedophile outside the schoolyard fence.......sort of sick really.....

Mac OS X is Unix-based under the hood, so you might get some virtualisation software running.

You can get the windows wrapper so you can run windows applications.

It seems like AWD is a little sensitive though, I wouldn't be surprised if it were a little difficult to get working.

I have a friend that has a fairly current Mac that was able to run WaW with no problems. Not sure what it took to do that.

Excellent answers gents, the virtual PC kit sold on the Mac Product Homepage would do the trick ---------> must save up $330, then I'll be able to get back in the groove (translation: lose some more to you guys!)

Hi Christian,

I have a new McBook Pro (Intel based) and installed a 30 GB bootcamp partition. Bootcamp can be downloaded freely from the Apple homepage. AWD runs fine in Bootcamp. I am also using Parallels Desktop for a virtual XP inside Mac OS, but in the Parallels VM AWD does not work.
