Generals starting in containers

Post by MorningDew »

Is there any way generals could start a scenario in containers and in command? I find I have to spend a lot of time at the beginning getting generals shuffled. It would offer an opportunity to "jump" into the game much faster if the generals where already "setup".

I don't think so. But this reminds me of a question. Due to some changes we made, there will now be a lot of generals showing up in the first turn. Are there too many? We're thinking of making it so that 9-percenters have less than a 9% chance of showing up that turn, which will mean less micro-managing then. Even with "Fewer Generals" you can now start with twenty of them that turn.

I'm the opposite, I like more micromanagement because it means I have more choices. Having more generals at startup to me is a nice addition. I can't use them if I don't have them, but if I have them... well you know how it goes. [;)]

I'm not asking for less (or more). I'm saying it would be nice if they started in containers. And I don't think that would limit you from doing anything, would it? You could still move them around from containers all you wanted. But it would allow people to get started in a game much faster.

It's a small thing and, if not easy to implement, certainly not worth it.

I was actually referring to Gil with the micromanagement answer. I should have quoted him with my reply so I would have been more clear. Sorry about that.

As far as starting the generals off in containers, aren't they already inside, like the Potomac army, but not inside individual containers? In other words, in the Southern Steel scenario playing as the North, the Generals appear with the horse symbol. Then just to the left and below is the Potomac army and inside that are also the same Generals listed but they are not inside individual containers, they are at the end of them all. I have to shuffle them around inside each container... is that what you mean? [&:]

I hope I made myself clear. When I preview this all I get dizzy. [:(]
