Steel Panthers II patch problem

Help! I am running Windows ME and trying to load the SPV1_1.exe update patch for Steel Panthers II. No matter how I try to run the patch, the update crashes with an exception error. Does anyone know how to fix this or can they point me to where I can download the separate files?
