Red glory the next war enters our homelands!

Playing my friend in Germany, who may at his discretion join this aar, I am playing the Red army side.
We are using basic FITE, with alot of HOUSE rules mods.

Most importantly the Red army in Poland and the Baltic states may not leave those areas, as well as any other units that enter may not then leave.
Next is the restriction on the Siberian air forces, none can enter the main areas till 1942.
Third, there are simply no invasion, minor allies or Finn restrictions to the German player, he may freely move in and out of finland, attack from turn one stack the minors etc. Air units may drop 15 hex not 10.

All these changes are to encourage and help the German to have a realistic ability to hurt the reds in 1941.
The restrictions ofn the air and units for the reds are removed after Lenningrad, Moscow or Sevastipole falls, or 1942 in the case of the air.
Bessarabia and finish Garrisons are free to move.

The request for sensitive classified information have been sent to the ministry of information, while maps are approved , losses are still being debated!. As one can imagine therer is no stopping the enemy as of turn two, week one!

Those house rules hurt the reds pretty badly. The germans CAN win in 1941...and one thing you gotta remember is that in order to win Soviet Player needs to take Berlin...
I've beaten Soviets in 1941, I've been beaten in 1941...it just takes skill.

And to get such skills, you must have no life apart from TOAW...

My last game the forces of Axis went almost to Len, and pennetrated to the edge of Smolensk.. and took kiev and stalled out near KArkov, to attain this I lost almost my entire army, but they rebuilt so quickly that by the winter offensive I was able to grind the enemy to dust.
This game should be more interesting as it is my first actual having a clue game a sov player.
remember the paras lose that ability if the are reconstituted, and the minor allies are very weak, reletive to the regular german army.

The enemy is still in Poland, with a minor incursion into the Ukrain areas. Riga stands proudly. most of the bridges in the baltics, Bessarabia and poland and the Marshes central zone are blown.
WE are not confident of stopping them at Minsk, but our forces are diging in there, hoping to slow down the advancing troops. Digpilus,sp?, is still a red bastion of poeple hope!

The Finnish front is seeing an infusion of troops and our fordces are digging in there as well.
We where able to salvage a LARGE part of our pre war airforce, and they have withdrawn to eastern areas awaiting the end of the axis air shift.

Army HQ released on this third week of fighting some generic, non specific maps showing our troops reorganising, i.e.retreating. after successfully slowing the enemy down all along the front and before minsk! This first shot is the most distressing!

And in the South off map two too aggressive units in Bessarabia tasted Red army justice and where captured along with over 50% ofthere equipment, new slaves in our workers paradise, the mines or the forests?

The Russian army is like a host of ants but the jackbots have squashed many rtanks as they have now encircled the brave defenders of Minsk who will taste the iron fist of herr Hitler. Army group south is smashed most of the stalin line whilst Mannerheims men have gone over to the attack

this seems to be a good idea, most players (incl. myself [:D]) behave unhistorically pulling everything out of these areas
although this seems to be a reasonable plan, it appears very unrealistic given how the government worked in Soviet Russia, how decisions were made and by who

i'd also add a house rule forbidding a total withdrawal from Ukraine...

The Ukraine would be a more difficult task... because there is no set deffiniation ofn the board. Allowuing the Finns to attack before turn 40, and no red air till Jan 42 esceipt for what is in place, in this game GFORTUNATELY lm was unable to destroy the vaste red air force on turn one and two and now it prepares to help slow down the tsunami seeping forward

Hmm...if you want reds to stay in those ares, then should you also add 'rules' to where certain german divisions can operate at? I don't think those  rules are really necessary...this scenario should not be a replay of what happened historically but what could happen.

Adding the randum Hitler Stallin Madness factor would really frustrate commander in this game, imagine facing Kurk or Stalingrad and geting those orders? or as the Reds getting a stand and die, oh, and by the way do not dig in because that is not our doctrine?

The fascist are slowing down as summer wanes, our lines in the center are setting up, four now, but we need help in the North as the previously used Finnish garrison MUST defend against the Finns, omg how hard would this be if we gave them SWEEDON TOO!

The south is interesting, the Italians are no where to be seen, and the Germans are approaching the third outer line at Kiev.
At Oddessa I have massed a large force and am experiencing parity, something unheard of in 1941. I also activated my airforce, even if it is only for training and the Siberian units are still awaiting there 42 orders to come into the Red moscow front! I did move some units close in Finnland, but the 41 Red airforce SUCKS.
I would not mind the US comming in, maybe I should attack Turkey!

We enter the later part of summer, the Germans stall out after Minst, befoore Peskov and Kiev and Odessa.. Lines are formed and reinforcemnts arrive..

Yet news reaches HQ of a crossing South of the lines in front of Smolensk, three fully supplied fortified lines, accross the Dneper!.. Well, maps to fallow but Moscow Stavks issues and elert and all avaliaibe troops rush to meat the german in this breackout before the first two center lines become void of purpose and totally flanked.

PLAYER NOTE: We are not , by accident, playing with borders, so I did not see this last breakout comming! oops
