Alright, I now have the game (thank you again viberpol!) and I want to install some of the mods. I believe the CHS mod is the one everyone is playing. I went to rogue's site and it seems there are many different CHS mods and lots of new ship and aircrafgt pics. My questions are:

which CHS mods to download?

how do you install them? some have pretty good instructions but put these files in the appropriate folder is a lot vague......

also which map file do I need to download? I presume I'll need the new scenarios to work with the new map also?

I'm sure these have been asked by many before me but I'd have expected them to be on a sticky.

Thanks!

FYI...my site doesn't have the current CHS...graphics and such will probably work but I think the scenarios and data are out of date.

Spooky will lead you right I think. http://mathubert.free.fr/

Spooky's is out of date too.  The only site with the most recent CHS is Andrew Brown's: http://www.bur.st/~akbrown/witp/scenarios.html

Specifically, you want to go here: http://www.bur.st/%7Eakbrown/witp/CHS_download.html

There are somewhat detailed instructions of what you need and where you need to put things.  The best idea is to make a separate folder, copy your stock game into it, then update to CHS and make a shortcut from the desktop or Start Menu to the .exe in the new folder.  This is the safest way of doing it and it allows you to keep the stock game map and graphics files around if you ever want to play that again.

Multiple installations of the same "original" is probably a better description (I have three installations of the game myself)
