If you like BBs fighting it out, without worrying about those pesky aircraft bothering them, you will like this game.

I have never played WITP but, from what I can gather, the main difference is the very limited scope of air power in WPO. I am sure it makes the game less complex, but I have also read that it adds more fog of war, which makes things more interesting from a planning perspective.

Yes, you should like it.

IMO, the main problem with WPO is the need of HR for politics. There are some mods which help to handle this. Otherwise WPO is a plain fun. :)

Javacamp... do you play PBEM or vs AI? I find so far the AI in WPO to be absolutely anemic... it made a couple of early invasions in the first few days, grabbing Laoag and Aparri on Luzon and all of Mindanao - but has done absolutely nothing in the two months since.

Turns run through very quickly, so you can play a week in the time it takes to play one day in WITP - maybe even faster. Your ships have shorter range, so the fuel stop islands are even more important. It's an interesting game, but my experience agaisnt the AI has been a little disappointing so far. I'm willing to give it more time, but I fear that WPO will be even more reliant upon PBEM than WITP for a truly fun game.

I agree with Brad. I love the game. It should bring may different challenges, but do not expect them from the AI. I have just been lucky enough to start my first PBEM and I am really looking forward to it.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

So far I have only played WITP against the AI, and even that takes a long time.

I have just one PBEM game going but love it. It is not WITP and you have to play differently but it is quite fun. Find a human opponent and have some fun.
