Upgrading and ongoing pbem

I had two pbem games going in v4.5, but couldn't wait for them to finish before installing the MegaCampaign.

I copied the whole folder with v4.5 to a new folder titled "Old SP", tested that it would run out of that folder, and then upgraded to 5.01, 5.2, 5.3, and now I guess I'll have to go to 6.0 and 6.1.

When I got my next turns in v4.5 I extracted the files to the email folder in my new "Old SP" folder, but got a security violation.

Is this because the games knows that's not the folder it started out in and thinks I'm cheating? Is there anything I can do to continue these games?
