NEED HELP!! PROBLEM W/ SP:WAW!!

Post by Matt R »

Hello all-

Sorry to freak out like that ;)

Well I have a problem that I do not understand. I installed SP:WaW and I get the dreaded vid998.smk problem. I can play the first time I run SP:WaW after installation but every time I run it afterwards, 'Vid998.smk not found. Program aborting'

Vid998.smk is in my snd\stream folder. I tried copying it to the main folder. Same thing.

What am I doing wrong?

Go to the SP:WaW download page and download the file! Easy as that. By the way it is always helpful to mention which version you are running, and if possibly a hardware/OS problem, the types and versions of those too. There are always some issues that can be answered failrly easily with that knowledge.

Howdy-

I'm running v. 4.0.

The thing is that I have vid998.smk in the folder! Why should I download it again?

Hey,

Vid998.smk file has tendency to get spoiled when downloading. You could also try to start game from mech.exe.

Hello Sasa-

I have tried that. It keeps on saying it cannot find vid998.smk.

Has this problem been encountered before?

Matt,

You've probably done your share of installing and uninstalling. Seems like problem is not in vid998.smk after all. Sorry, I can't help you here.

(You could rename vid9898.smk to vid998.smk, just in case.)
