Game doesnt work on Vista?

I started the game, the credits didn't display- then it showed some sort of loading screen, and when it was done, it spit me back to the desktop every time.

I'm running Vista and have all the latest nivida graphics drivers.

This really sucks- anybody know whats going on?

That sounds like you don't have Flash and/or Shockwave installed. Install the latest of both from Macromedia's site and see if that helps. FWIW, although Vista is not officially supported (yet), others are playing FOF on Vista just fine.

Been playing fine on my Vista wargaming laptop:
Duo Core Intel Vista PC with Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GS 256MG card and 2GB Ram.

I verified my installations of both the latest flash and shockwave players, with the same result. No beginning credits. 'load screen' starts, then it exits to desktop without starting the game.

Star shatter and War in the Pacific run. just not this one.

Anyone got an another idea?

On the off-chance that it's related to Flash (that's the point in the loading sequence where the Flash animation begins), would you mind trying to rename your "Video" directory to "NoVideo" and seeing whether that works or not?

Do you hear the sound/music during the regular loading sequence?

First of all, thank you for all your help. The game is working fine now.

Here is the problem i had, hopefully it doesn't come up again.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox as my default browser. I downloaded the Flash updates and it said they were installed. But the game didn't work until i switched into Internet Explorer- went to the Adobe Flash website- and it asked me if i wanted to install Flash again. After that the game worked.
