Blue screen WIR windows version

Hi everyone!
Yesterday i've downloaded War in russia and installed it with no problem.
When i start to play, I see always the same damn blue screen:
This application cannot be run in a window. Press any key to convert this application to full screen mode. Press any key to continue.

As you may guess, the "Press button to continue" ends in a reboot more than anything else...

I have Windows ME, PIII 750 256MEG RAM, ATI 32Meg video card and AX34ProII motherboard the sound integrated.

Is there a precedent with that?

Just made a test, War in pacific doesnt work too.

Is it ME?
