Is there some way I can be notified when the patch comes out? I have gone months without FOF, and wanted to wait untill the official patch... will it come out this summer?

There's no emergency broadcast that will go out. But the second round of public beta should be beginning Saturday, and if all goes well (that is, no new bugs are found) the patch would be released a little over a week from now.

This public beta patch is about as good as the "gold" patch, so there's no reason not to install it and start playing -- any changes between it and the "gold" release would be minimal (a tweak here, or small fix there).

The next beta patch is supposed to come out tomorrow. The current beta patch works fine. I have been using it for some time now. Give it a try.
