Soldiers Injuries

Post by pitttbulll »

I was wondering if anyone knew how the game decides what injuries warrants a soldier being sent to the hospital from injuries.
One of my guys had a head wound, which I healed from a stimpack, and had no critical bleeding, and was sent to the hospital after the mission for 21 days.
On the other hand, I had a guy with critical bleeding to his arm, and wounds to all of his areas.
They were light, cured by the medikit stimpack, no problem.
He never listed as an injured soldier at the end of the mission.
Any input would be appreciated.

Well, it was a head wound. MUCH different than wounds to the arms and legs.

To answer your question seriously, I believe it is determined by a base percentage, and that percentage is modified by damage taken, where that damage is done, and the characters base vitality. Not 100% sure though.

When you get better technology the injury time is reduced. Also, better armor can lower or eliminate the chance to go to sickbay.

There does seem to be some randomness in determining when a soldier goes to the hospital. Not certain the details.

I think part of what is being asked, you can have a trooper hit, with only body damage and not healed, who when the mission is over, is fine, but others who take damage and are healed during the mission, will show up as being damaged

I have had troopers who were Hurt bad, be healed and no hassle when the mission ends, others who only took non crit damage, and get heal, head off to the sickbay when the mission is over

Actually HS, reading on the net about it. It seems if u take 30 body damage or more even if not critical u win a pass to sickbay too.

kind regards,

One quirk is that if you heal up the wounds on the same turn as they were received, there's no hospital stay. The stress is on the SAME turn. This means this only really applies when you get wounded by reaction fire and can get a medic to the wounded unit since you can't use a medkit during the alien turn.

Actually, I do not get 'same turn = no sickbay'. It may have to do with only one action, but when I use advanced healing with 70 points my soldier still goes away for a while. I think it has to do with crit/no crit more than anything else.
