Graphic Glitch/Crash

Okay, just got the game. In its current state, it's unplayable. I need help. I have an Nvidia 6800. When I start the game, the intro plays fine. If I get into the menu area, it will randomly throw up various colored sprites, and often lock up hard. Someone help me out with this? I'll attach my file.
