Travel to Earth Cutscene CTD

After I launch the Centarus the cutscene starts and after a few seconds it drops to desktop. It did this three times and on the fouth it went ahead and played all the way thru and I was able to go to earth. I am playing the plain version of the game.
Microsoft error box popped up when it CTD.
