Scenario briefings

Battlefront features the power of battalion-level combat in some of this period's most bloody and intense conflicts: Saipan, Market Garden, Novorossisk, and Gazala. Players will have realistic control over their soldiers, with a tactical scale just large enough to make a telling difference in the strategic picture.

Scenario briefings

Post by Txema »

I remember that when Battlefront was released there was a problem with the scenario briefings, and I think that they were not shown in game.

On the other hand, I remember that some screenshots from the "Market Garden" scenario included very interesting briefing notes in the screens that appear when going from one turn to the following one.

Which is the current status of the game after 1.02 patch? Are the briefings properly shown in game at the beginig of each scenario? Are the briefing notes also shown in the screens that appear between turns?

Thank you very much for the information !!!

Sincerely, the lack of clear information on the game, the virtual absence of the developers in the forums and the posts about the lack of a full tutorial and the comments about the poor manual have refrained me from buying this game. (That and the very nice time I am having with Conquest of the Aegean, of course [:D]).

I think the developers of Battlefront should be more present in the forums and more responsive to the players, to make the players feel their game is much more supported.

Sign up at the RUN5 forum and you usually get a response fast direct from the developers or from JSS or Robjess who are just as good at answering any technical/gameplay questions.

The tutorials and manual and no longer a problem as JSS's tutorial is great and theres enough players on this forum and the run5 forum to answer any gameplay questions. No one has gone without help so i no longer see it as an excuse not to buy this great game! Go ahead and do it, you wont be dissapointed.

Check out the review and the latest developer interview (posted today) over at the wargamer for more detailed information on this game.

And i agree, COTA is a great game! [;)]

In Market Garden, after1.02 there are reminders of what needs to be done. And are helpful

The only real briefing a player needs is to hit F9 which shows up the objectives on the map.

The answer to your question is that only Market Garden has scenario briefings at the start of turn 1 and in between turns. None of the other scenarios have this which is strange as we get no background to any of the other battles which are sorely needed for those not fully up to speed with the battles shipped with the game. It did add the units involved, turns and size of battle in the scenario selection menu (the window above the scenarios you select was empty before the patch).

It is very easy to add briefings and pictures to the start of each turn and the community over at RUN5 is already at work on them, hopefully a simple download will add these screens to the start of each turn without the need for another patch.

Sorry if you think we've been absent, we've been working hard on Carriers at War. The patch added basic scenario briefings to the scenarios other than Market Garden, which somehow got omitted from the release version. If you have any questions, either here or in the Run 5 forums, we will do our best to answer them quickly.
