mr tankerace has moved on to help create other games so any more improvements to WPO are very highly unlikely...

I personally think that Tanker would like to return to WPO eventually, but you certainly can't quote me on that...[:D]

Actually I am planning on getting back to WPO. I am thinking about seeing with Matrix if I can swing a deal with an artist for the ships (using possibly one from Carrier Force), and then once I can get to a point on Carrier Force where I can get back to work on WPO some see if we can't finish 1.3 The OOB is already 90% done. The art was always the hold up.

I'll tell you guys what I'll do. I'll give Dave a call this week, and see what we can arrange. If I can get an artist on board (maybe bribed to do it Pro Bono or with a free copy of the game or something) I'll see if we can't resurrect 1.3.

Also, if you want, maybe if there was enough public outcry we can get another project of mine done. Last year I had talked with Dave about an expansion pack, covering 1931-1940. This would include hypothetical WPO style dreadnought scenarios, as well as more realistic 1930s scenarios with the Washington Treaty. I had asked Dave about it and it went nowhere, then I talked to Joel and got hired for Carrier Force. That is still my main project, but who knows what the future would bring.

BTW for the name of the project (FYI that was also what 1.3 was supposed to do, be springboard for the expansion) I planned to call it "War Plan Orange: Twilight of the Gods 1931-1940."

excellent! after getting over some of the "inconsistencies" of the WitP engine i'v gotten to really enjoy playing WPO PBEM and it's the only game i'v consistently played for over a year now. make a bridge to WitP and i'l likely finally cross to the other side!

Just wanted to jump in and say that expansion sounds pretty cool, was'nt there talk also of an expanison covering the Russo-Japnese War a while back?
