Password problem

Post by Ratslugger »

I loaded 3.8 over an earlier version, I don't remember which. Now I get a message that the serial number is not recognized, error 200, although it was recognized by the upgrade and I pasted it directly from the email confirming my purchase. NB, I don't have a clue how I ended up with awful background color

I have done both.  I tried an install over the existing game and a fresh install.  Password copied from disk on several occassions and correct in the internal file resulted in the same error (error 200).

Hi,

Double check that the 3.8 patch is pointed to the same directory as the existing 3.7 or later installation.

Did you ever manually move the ANW installation from one directory to another?

Also, are there any errors in the console window before the error code 200?

If its any help I had a similar problem on a re-install today. 3.7 went in OK, as did 3.8 on install, but it threw up the serial number error when trying to run it. Problem was solved by an uninstalling then deleting the Harpoon directory that remained, then re-installing game, then patch.
