So what (if any) changes have been made?

Post by Jim D Burns »

With the release of the game just “hours or days” away, how about a list of what (if any) changes have been made to the underlying engine.

I personally want to know if the generated battles have better (more logical) setups with units belonging to the same formations placed close together and on *logical* entry hexes if entering from off map. So for example do the units from a regiment who’s HQ starts the battle already on map enter within a reasonable distance of the HQ’s setup or do they still arrive over half a map away with no chance of actually being able to join said HQ before the scenario ends?

Also will enough turns be generated to allow the larger battles to actually be played out? I used to laugh when I would only get 17 turns for a division or corp sized battle, that’s not even enough time to make contact with half your force let alone have time to come to any kind of decisive victory outcome.

Are enough replacements now generated between battles in the dynamic campaigns to allow players to actually play with formations larger than a battalion now for more than one battle?

Etc, etc., inquiring minds want to know.
