Cool, I'm waiting for the Digital+Boxed option to show up, great job Jason! I wonder if the old crowd from the Frontline Wargame Club is still out there [:)]

Will the boxed version be the corrected one with the missing addon?

Probably a dumb question, but is there any way for those of us who had their willpower cave in and bought the download version to somehow pay the extra $10 + shipping and get the boxed also when it's out?

That isn't an option unfortunately and well documented in the forums.

I caved and got the DD as well...and am loving the game, so can't complain...but I knew about the policy anyway.

Matrix did do this once (just paid the $10 plus admin) for a manual after people had downloaded a game (Forge of Freedom) but that's because the people had no idea that a manual would be an option for Forge of Freedom. So as a good will gesture Matrix allowed that one time (back order) transaction...but it was apparently very time consuming.

So it's not really a case of being "boned" as CJMello suggests ( [;)] ) as the policy is clear....buy DD when it comes out or, if you want a manual/CD and Case, then wait for physical shipment option.

It's down to the individual to either exert some self control, or collapse and go with what they can get at the time.....

Look at it this way....when Lord of the Rings came out, I rushed out and bought it 'cos it was soooo good. A couple of months later, a Directors Cut was released....I wasn't able to go back to the publisher(?) and ask them if they could throw the extra 50 minutes of footage on a disk for me. I wasn't able to take my receipt to the shops and say "Can I have the Directors Cut with the amount of the original disk taken off it's price?"

An analogy which I think is appropriate.

Bummer I know....but I at least knew the score when I selected DD

Oh well, I figured such. No more first day buying from me though, I've learned my lesson.

I have all of my old manuals anyway.

I have EF, EFII and West Front along with the manuals. Are these old version manuals fairly close to be used for this new version?

Thanks

I haven't read through the new one yet but the hotkeys and basic play should be OK. I mainly just needed to remember the hotkeys and the back covers are good for that. I will go though the new manual one of these days.

Hi Guys

We expect the box version to go on sale tomorrow or Friday.  The CD with the box version will have the latest version on it and come with a full color manual.

"The long sobs of the violins of autumn..." quoted from mr. rutins in another forum.

Is it time to broadcast this missiv in this forum?[:D]

I think that this is a great way to herald press releases for all the games ready here and save the admins time in replying to repeated queries. could start out with"..violins of autumn..." for close imminent releases then use "a duck quacks in the night" or some such (sorry-don't remember all of the d-day missives ) for a heads up to the members to prepare to order.

ps: sorry didn't want my second post to come off as a whining plea for release (even in jest)--just enjoyed that quote and the anticipation is getting to me. gonna order another or so title also but want to wait for this to order at the same time--don't want ups coming by the house delivering physical options on differen't days and alerting my wife to multiple purchases.
