Is there a list of Hot Keys?

Post by gwahlert »

Great Matrix is bringing these old classics back, including TOAW which I'm still playing years later - pretty rare for a computer game that seem to have a half life measured in days.

I've checked the maunual but couldn't find a list of Hot Keys. Is there one? If so, where?

Thanx,

Glenn

The manual is not much help - the index refers you to page 21, where they are not mentioned, and page 25 helpfully points you to the 'back cover'.

Fortunately you can find them via the in-game help 'General help' (F1), 'Other features', 'Hot keys'.

Hi,
I am new to the series but I hope this helps. Hit the F3 key in game to bring up the parameters screen, scroll to the bottom, there should be a list of hot keys there for ya. I havent tried it yet but I belive you can print this out.

Hertston, what is the manual like?

I like printed manuals, but if this isn't worth waiting for a printed one, then I'll go with the DD.

How many pages? Content?

137 pages, and it seems everything important is there. I've been getting my refresher via the printed Rising Sun manual I still have, so I haven't looked at the new one much. The data tables that were in the original manuals are missing, but they are all available in game anyway.

One thing I haven't spotted is the docs for the set-of-four tutorials, which were not in the original manuals, either. The manual includes the main East Front ('Reconnaissance') tutorial, but not as far as I can see the four 'Bookski Camp' ones which are useless without the destructions. Rising Sun has both as well, but again the four introductory training scenarios are pointless without the docs that go with them. I have them, from the Rising Sun disk; if you need them give me a shout and I'll e-mail you a copy.

Can't see a 'printer friendly' version, either. One is needed.

Jason, would it be possible for you/Matrix to make the bootcamp instructions for all three games available for download somewhere? They would be very useful for new players.

"Bootski-camp.doc" is in the East Front folder.

"Bootcamp.doc" is in West Front folder

There is also a "Bootcamp.doc" in the Rising Sun folder

Yup, so they are.  Sorry, please ignore the above.  In self-defence, I think they might have been better in the 'Manuals' folder, though.. I couldn't spot them even when I was looking for them - and new players won't even know what to look for.

There is a bunch more. If I remember later I can scan the back of one of my old manuals with all of them listed.

Also, at the risk of being in violation of the rules [&:], here's a link to the hotkeys list extracted from the Parameter help file and put into an MS Word doc format. If it is illegal to post this, then admin please delete.

Jay did list the main ones anyway. Icons at the bottom are just as easy to use.
