What are the plans for releasing in Australia? [&:][&:]

I'm expecting a delay between release in the US and here but I would like to know what the plans are 'cause I'm dying for this game! [:D][:D]

are you on a broadband connection? You can download the game within an hour or so on a good ADSL/cable service (and ISP) in Australia, the moment it's released.

Unfortunately its a wireless ADSL connection, generally the average speed I get on a download is 10kb/sec. I think that would be just to painful!

yeah that is just about dial up speed - how about popping into your local net cafe or go to a friend's place, download it from there and burn it onto a CD instead.

Could be an option. Hopefully the game will be relased soon and I'll be able to sort it out. I've be hanging for this to be realeased, I remember losing countless days and weeks playing the original.

I'm in Sydney, it's just annoying that it's harder to get things over here considering the SSG is an Australian company and all.

I think I'll just wait until I hear its out and then just figure things out from there, I'll start firing off emails to SSG and hassling them until I get one! I'm sure they won't mind!

Whre are their offices anyway? Does anyone know?

P.S. How good is Battlefront anyway? I was thinking about getting that one.

We don't have offices - can't afford them and don't want them, we all work from our homes. I'm not sure that there's much that we can do to help, your purchase will have to go through the Matrix site as we don't sell anything here.

I do sympathise with your frustration though, especially when I see our clueless leaders pratting around when we should be already building a proper broadband system here in Australia.

Gregor

P.S. For what its worth, we think Battlefront is the best land combat system we've ever done.

Cool, thanks Gregor.

I think I'll order the physical copy. May take a little longer to get here but I know it will be worth the wait.

I think my fiance will kill me if I get Battlefront and CAW at the same time, I'd never talk to her! I'll leave Battlefront until after the honeymoon![8D][:D]

I honestly don't know, I think the Matrix order page gives an idea of shipping times.

I cracked and started the download, I am going away for the weekend but I figured I could get in a solid few hours tonight before I left my laptop at home. Unfortunately my connection kept dying (I even hard wired into the modem but it made no difference) so I called my bro-in-law and he kindly d/led it for me, which means I can't get it until Sunday arvo! Very annoying! So you all have fun this weekend playing your brand new copies of CAW (You lucky b******s!!!!) and I'll just have to wait a couple of days.[:(][:(]

BASB- My connection runs at a maxium 10KB/Sec, its wireles ADSL, so the d/l was going to take nearly 6 hours, would've finished around midnight.

Thanks Marc,

I was wondering about programs like that, but I couldn't recall any, I'll get it for when I get Battlefront!

Cheers

Nugget I use DAP as a D\L manager. With a speed like that you must have an ISP like Doddo! a R U in the bush or city?

City. Western Sydney actually. Its Primus Online and they suck! Its fine if you're just surfing but as soon as you want to d/l anything it dies. Also the d/l limit we've got set up is low and as soon as you go over it you go even slower.

Ah well, I'm not paying for it so I can't complain too much!

Ya gotta love primus [:@] I live in the bush my exchange is in another town 10 k away. there is also another exchange in town but some strange reason my phone line doesn't use it and as may or may not know 10 k is beyond standard Broad band range. anyhow Primus tried to flog me their broad band service, but i couldn't convince them it wouldn't work so they sent me out their start up pack modem and all that crap anyway and promised me I would have a service by x date, well after about 6 weeks they called me and said, due to technical difficulties, they are unable to connect me until further notice. I did the normal consumer thing, I rang up and complained about their frail promises, I was finally told by one of their supervisors, that situation was beyond their control and it was all Telstras fault. [:D] ya just gotta love these Telcos
