And again, and again.....

Tried EU shop, UK shop, US shop - received three different error messages, could not complete the purchase.

I buy games and other stuff online every month. Except with DR I always had only the smoothest experiences.

Digital River = imbeciles.

Companies that insist on using Digital River services....... hmmm, finish the sentence yourself: _______________.

I want the Digital Download AND Physical Shipment, but your store form doesn't seem to allow me to put a "1" in the proper box.

We've never had a problem with that before - what kind of error are you getting exactly?

No "error", just can't put a 1 in the box, and over where the price is listed it says "included". Can I just assume if there is a 1 in the top line (which just says Digital Download if I recall correctly) with the price that I will get both the download AND the shipped box/CD. The price is marked 59.99 which would be correct.

EDIT: Never mind, it seems to be reading correctly now!

PM sent. (In fact two PMs, with two order Nos both refused by DR for different, yet equally confusing and stupid reasons).

LOL, if you get the answer from them morons before monday PLEASE don't post it - I'd risk the heart attack if I'd see them respond to tech support issue faster than.... never [:D]

(Of course when their answer finally arrives I expect it to be something generic like "check the validity of your credit card" ie useless.)

LOL mate..... [:D]

I have American Express credit card too - now I guess you can't get more "American friendly" than American Express right?

Digital River gives me crap with that card too.

They are just complete and utter morons, incredibly unprofessional and I really don't know why Matrix puts up with them for so long, that's all there is to it. The whole idea of having a web shop that is open 24/7, but you STILL can't get the answer to tech support issue over a weekend is simply ridicolous.

Hehe... I understand your pain and desperation [8D]

While Digital River is truly great tech and I can see why Matrix have choosen them - it really takes big burden off their chest and makes things easier - but at the same time Matrix is not totally in control here like Shrapnel for example which solved some problems for me very fast before.

In the meantime Digital River execs are at Bahamis snorting enormous amount of Class A Cocaine in the company of some fine models or maybe even Paris Hilton that was released from jail [:D]
And money tick in...

I've purchased at least a dozen games from Matrix using DR, and I've never had a problem with it.

I honestly don't know what makes DR "truely great" (except for your usual intent of irritating me)? I understand that Matrix wishes to outsource the digital download stuff to some third party company specialized in this sort of thing, but DR is perhaps the worst choice possible.

I am using services of other 3rd party digital download companies on an almost weekly basis - Steam, Download.Com.... I bought games online from EA, UbiSoft..... I order books from Amazon UK and US all the time, physical boxed games from Game.Co.Uk and some "garage" wargame distributors in Europe, and never had anything but pleasant experiences and fast service.

With Digital River I had unexplained, stupid frustrating problems EVERY, and I mean EVERY time.

Plus, I absolutely don't envy anyone on Paris Hilton's company. And isn't she sent back to jail? (don't answer that)

I don't post to irritate you [:)]

I don't know, I like Digital River E-Commerce solution. No need to agree with me here.

BTW, maybe curse of The Balkans is following you as even Homer used to say that any business north of Korkira (sp?) is foolish LOLZ [:D]

Take it easy Oleg.

Honestly, you can not project your issues on everybody else. In fact we only have a very small percentage of issues connected to the online shop. DR is a huge provider for this kind of stuff. They even handle the Microsoft shop and I wouldn't be surprised they are behind the Apple store too [;)]

Marc,

Actually, I'm not entirely surprised by Oleg's report and I doubt it's a user issue. I've already forwarded the details to DR and received a reply which I've sent to Oleg.

The reason I'm not surprised is that I recall there being issues with orders from the Balkans in the past due to some fraud restrictions DR had in place. Although these have been, to my knowledge, lifted it's possible that he still ran afoul of something like that.

Could be. However, from a sales point a lost sale is a lost sale and in the end lost sale hurts the salesman, whether it's due to salesman being stupid, third party being stupid or user being stupid [:D] That's why online shops need to use lowest form of idiot proof methods so that even a complete moron like myself can get the product and leave his money.

I don't follow various support sub forums closely but I remember there were occassional epidemics of DR problems in the past.

Got your reply, thanks. According to it, I need to enter my valid phone number in the order form, and then everything will be allright??

So all this fuss because someone wants hot blonde's phone number??? [:D][:D] (see my avatar)

Joking aside....

First according to laws in most Euro countries no one and I mean NO one is allowed to ask me for my phone number, ever. What kind of stupid online shop system is based on getting a phone number if the Credit card itself checks out OK??

Second, in desperation, I actually DID enter my valid phone number couple times while trying to buy the game yesterday and still got some kind of error/negative reply etc. I'll try again.......

Third.... if the "error no. 3984792847" I got on the webpage translates into "enter your damn phone number dude" why WHY can't the "truely great" people from mighty DR make their web form reply with something immediatelly understandable to customer, like "enter your damn phone number dude"? Someone needs to spend 2 days mailing tech support back and forth to get that? [8|]
