1930's

Post by showboat1 »

Anyone know of a good source for a ship listing of the USN, RN, and IJN in the early 1930's? HAve been toying around with some ideas and thought of a possible 1931 start date, a response to the invasion of Manchuria.

If you can find a copy of Conway's that's good.  Jane's Fighting Ships of WW2 goes back and covers the period, too, for dead tree sources.

Online, Navsource gives details on about every hull that the USN put into the water for the last 120 years.  http://www.navsource.org/

This site catalogs the Royal Australian Navy:  http://www.hazegray.org/navhist/ran.htm

This site digs into the IJN:  http://www.combinedfleet.com/

Conway's is good for tracking when a lot of WW1 surplus tonnage was decommissioned.
