Patching to version 3.8

Guys

Thought it might be an idea to cross-post from the main tech support thred....

I have loaded 3.7 fine.

After I install 3.8 however I get the following error message:

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002).

I have turned all other programmes off and disabled my virus protection - but to no effect.

Any help gratefully received!
