WITPExcel Editor Question

Post by showboat1 »

Okay, I'm trying to edit the PWHEX.DAT file using WITPExcel 1.42 editor, I've goen through and changed the hexes numerous times and then "put" the file back into WitP. It shows that the file has been modified but when I go into the game the hex sides are the same as before. obviously I'm screwing up something, any ideas?

By the way, for what I'm doing it would be easier if I could just mass edit everything into all water and then start over again. Anybody know how to do that?

1) Beware of WITPExcel: it sometimes generates bad files.

2) WITP Editor X is far easier to use

3) You are putting to the wrong folder. ONLY the pwhex in the top level WITP folder is used by the game.

4) I myself use WITPExcel because of speed in loading - but I have safety procedures in place. I maintain many files. To work on just one - use WITP Editor x.

Negative.

You must load any scenario or game - stop the current session - but you do NOT have to restart the program.

However - to load new map ART you MUST shut down WITP and restart from scratch.
