Engineer query

Post by MartNick »

Playing the Moscow LCG in East Front, upto the Moszaisk scenario and a couple of times my SS Engineer Platoons have been reduced by 1 and disrupted when entering a minefield. I thought engineers were immune from minefields?

Ta ver much

Hmm.. bizarre. Yes, they should be immune. Taking note of this. Thanks

I dont see a problem, it has the 3 5 code.   Does anyone see other engineer platoons that have that problem?

Oh I believe you but its not a miscoded platoon (Thankfully).   If one engineer has this problem all should.  Hence my question.

Strange thing is it doesn't happen all the time, it seems intermittent. But makes the later scenarios harder to win with the increase of blocked/mined hexes if the engineer units get disordered and reduced.

Is there some radius from enemy units which effect it?

My engineers suffer the same after patching. They are losing SP and get disrupted after entering mined hexes.

Do they still clear the minefield, Huib?

Yes they do. At least those that didn't get disrupted

Yes, that's normal then. Just the losses is abnormal.

I just learned this myself. First you have to get a screen shot into the "clipboard". To do that requires a combination of key strokes, usually <Ctrl><Prnt Scrn> or <Ctrl><Shift><Prnt Scrn>. Once you have done this, it is not readily apparent that you have actually captured the shot, until you enter another program such as "Paint". When you have entered "Paint" or equivalent, go to the top and do an "Edit" and "Paste" as you would with anything previously copied. If your combination of Keystrokes mentioned above was correct, you'll see your screen shot appear in the "Paint" window.

Using Paint or whatever program, you can then possibly make cropping or editing marks if necessary. Once complete go to "File" at the top of the "Paint" program and choose "Save As", pick whatever name you wish to assign to it, and be sure to change the save format to JPeg, to reduce the size since Matrix forums have a limit to the size (200 kb) that can be uploaded. The default format in "Paint" is .BMP which is way too large to upload.

At this point you have a "picture.jpg" ready to upload into a post. All you do now is start a "New Thread" and at the bottom of the Message Box, You'll see a link Click here to upload!. If you click that link, it will prompt you for your file, with a browse capability to find it. Once successfully uploaded, if it's a picture, be sure to check the box [ ] Embed picture in post. Voila, you have posted a screenie.

NOTE: The quick message at the bottom of the thread does not have the aforementioned links for posting, however, all you have to do is "edit" your post to be able to change and/or get the Upload link.

Hope this helps, you may have to experiment at the deskop with the keystrokes to find the ones that work for you re:copying into the actual clipboard so that you can paste into the "Paint" window. It took me a couple of tries since I have a laptop which uses a <Fn> key combination instead of a regular keyboard. Good Luck and Enjoy.

You've GOT to hold them back!

no combination of keystrokes needed...just hit PrintScreen button for entire screen capture (to clipboard) or you can use right Alt (Alt Gr on soem keyboards) + PrintScreen only for active window/dialog capture

then paste to program as mmentioned above
