Are Cavalry Charges Possible?

I thought i read somewhere that units could fire from atop horses now

is it possible for mounted troops to assault enemy hexes?

what? no one else wants to give them the bayonet? I only ask because I am creating a LCG game that depicts the Philippine Scouts during 1941-42 and one of the scenarios I am developing would involve a cavalry charge...

They used to be able to, and still should.

I also believe that the riders can fire while mounted now too!

Not only that but there is a massive bonus given to troops that assault whilst mounted. Of course they are very vulnerable on the way in.
