Does boxed version come with a manual?

Post by Rocko911 »

I was curious to see if the boxed version comes with a manual or is the manual via the download a small pdf file that can be printed at home and not use 100's of pages?

The d/l version has a nice PDF which looks like what the manual will be in hardcopy. Do a search in your directory where the game is installed, there is a folder called manual.

I thought I'd bump this. I see there is an option for digital download + physical copy. Does the physical copy include a printed manual?

Having a physical manual is great. But having it on PDF where you can search for key words is IMO way better. I'd rather pay $5 less and get a PDF manual (if that was only a choice[&o]) than getting one that my kid or cat will chew up anyway. But hey, that's me. [:D]

That is an option. Digital download...you get the version of the game right away AND a nice shiny pdf.

You can even burn the exe to DVD/CD so that you can have it on disk and, if you are so inclined, put it in a nice box.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who would rather not have the box, but want a printed CD/DVD...in which case, I'm sure, they wold like to pay $5 less...life is like that in all walks.

Point is a printed manual for game that requires an in-depth manual is a must for some people and not others. I know you know that point...just re-iterating.

But there are various reasons for it...

For example, I work on computers all day writing programs...I do not want to sit at a computer screen to read in the evening. Also, my computer is in my bedroom. I do not have a laptop, so I do not want to sit "unsociably" upstairs for longer than I have to...with a printed manual, I can sit downstairs with the family and read my manual (or in the conservatory. And there is, not to my knowledge, a local printer that could print a pdf for me cheaply.

Well...just my reasons for wanting a printed manual.

From what I can gather, Matrix will not make any money from these printed manuals. But they have provided it the way it is because they would have to charge much, much more to print manuals "on demand"....a bit like buying a mars bar....50p - but buy a box, you get them for 45p each!

What are you talking about? All our titles come with PDF manuals, digital and physical. And the boxed versions come with a printed manual on top of that [;)]
