AI Question

Commander – Europe at War Gold is the first in a series of high level turn based strategy games. The first game spans WW2, allowing players to control the axis or allied forces through the entire war in the European Theatre.

AI Question

Post by Forwarn45 »

I was wondering if those who are currently playing the game are finding the AI challenging at some level of difficulty and, if so, at what level? Just want a little information from as many people as possible. I'm not looking for a perfect AI in a game - just one that can be somewhat competent at least while you are still learning the game.

No.

that AI was never challenging in any of hte Beta's.  The last one I tried before the game came out was 1944 as the Axis - defeated 2 attempted D-Day's & a Brit landing in Denmark, recaptured half of the Ukraine & was surrounding the Russian armies up around Poland/East Prussia by swining north.

Sadly the only way it is tough is if you make the AI units harder to kill with bonuses.

Thanks for the response, SMK. At what help level - if any - would you say the AI is a challenge? Also - hoping for more responses: (1) AI Challenging? (2) At what level?

I always tested it at 1-2 levels in favour of the AI - there are 3 available.

Well I'm playing as Axis with 1 level of advantage given to the Allies, and I am having a hard time.

I'm not great at these games though, but challenging for me it certainly is.

There are no combat bonuses for the AI - not sure where that idea came from. If it feels like it then they must be setting up some advantage against you with terrain etc.

Is there an editor? Can we edit units if we want?

Also, will a more comprehensive editor be put out in an expansion or in a patch, whereby new scenarios can be created; and where units, tech, etc can be edited?
Drinking a cool brew; thinking about playing my next wargame....
