Supplimented Request for (Chinese) Allied data

Post by el cid again »

I seek information on the sponsoring organization for

Chinese 9, 12, 23, 31, 40, 56 and 76 Corps (or Army) orgnizations.

Were any of these provincial or any other wierd affiliation? Were any regular ROC Army?

Add to this list 40, 49, 58, 60, 68, 70, 74, 78, 79 and 80th Corps.

There are six 9C in ROC Army.
The fourth 9C found in 1929.4.
9C came from "Zhe-series", but after "Sian Incident", 99D,the "Center Army", was transfered to 9C in 1936.12.
Hao, Meng-lin, the commander of 9C, was KIA in Xinkou Scenario in 1937.10.16. He is also a hero of China.
When 1938.4, 99D regrouped as 99C. So we may think about 9C is not "Center Army" in WitP.
When 1940.6, 9C command 47D, 54D and N24D. The commander was Pei, Chao-hui.
The fourth 9C was disbanded in 1945.4.
The war is not about who is right. It is about who is left.

Wow. Thanks. We will change the commander's name to match in a revised unit - which will have the correct number of divisions.

Badnews will have the dates but I place:

31C - 131, 135th and 188th D

Part of 16th Army Group.

Participated in:
Battle of Southern Kwangsi Mid November 39- Late Feb 1940
 and
Battle of Kweilin-Liuchow Mid Aug 1944

So for my purposes its a Three Division Corps

OK - and for my purposes that makes it a Group Army. I presume that makes it ROC Army rather than a provincial formation or some other affiliation. Is that correct?
