Tech Labs ...

Commander – Europe at War Gold is the first in a series of high level turn based strategy games. The first game spans WW2, allowing players to control the axis or allied forces through the entire war in the European Theatre.

Tech Labs ...

Post by IrishGuards »

Can anyone who has some experience with Tech Labs .. especially the costs involved ...
After having built 2 in 1939 ..
at a starting price of 20 for 1 .. slightly higher for the 2nd please enlighten me as they seem to be exponentiallly doubling ..
I figured 1 Inf and 1 Arm lab ... hey good idea ..
I know that by 1941 I was in russia in 1 game and had no upgrades at all ..
Am I using focus points wrong ..??
Thx

I'm not too sure about exponentially doubling.  They do get a little more expensive but I think I maxed out at 12 labs and the most expensive one only cost a little over 100 points I believe.  I've taken Moscow, it's Sept 1942 and I got lots of production points for the Axis. More than I really need. I've also got lots of upgrades.  Enough to get my Armour up to Tiger 1's anyways. Maybe you are spending too many points buying new units and healing?  Or maybe you are playing at a harder difficulty than I am (normal).

Tech spending is like most of these games a gamble.  I find the first up comes in early 41 if you start on first turn of 39.  I have found in most of my games that once they start they seem to update regularly.

Personnally I do try to do one of each tech since I then can improve in each over time.  I must admit often the last 2 techs I buy take me over a year to save up to buy.  I have not really tired buying multiple techs in the same area until late game when I have plenty of coin.  Once I have added 2 or 3 to a single tech it produced very rapidly.
