Big bug, everybody dead

Post by Erik2 »

I am about halfway creating a new scenario creating individual ships.
The editor has crashed a few times already, but i've always been able to work with the bak-file.
This time the editor crashes immediately upon trying to retrieve the bak-file.
Now what [:(]

Any help appreciated
(I've sent all crash reports to SSG)

Hi Erik,
Shoot your scenario file over to me at support@ssg.com.au and i'll take a look.

Thanks, already sent the first scenario effort. I'll send you the new one shortly.
Being a glutton for punishment I restarted with the Eastern Solomons as a template and tried to convert this to the Guadalcanal scenario from CCAW. I've got all the hard data in minus the warcards wich is set up so different from the CCAW version that it is very hard to get my head around it.
Anyway, more important is this:
1) There's no way to delete individual ships and it also looks like two buttons for moving up/down in the list is non-functional.
2) I've added ships to TGs in the ship creation, but when I double-check the TGs the inventory is way off.
Some ships are shown in white as belonging to the TG, but they are not present in the ship box, please see attached screenshot. The same ships may be part of a different TG and often crashes the editor when I delete the ship from this TG.
3) Deleting some troublesome specific ships from TGs crashes the editor constantly.
4) Even aftger deleting all warcards the editor complained about some surplus landbases/ships/squadrons where part of a bunch of warcards when I tried to delete the landbases etc

Thanks for looking into this
Erik

erik, when you create the ships, leave their TG as NOT SET, then go the to the Task Group screen, and add them to the TG you want.

Will do the next time, but now the editor crashes immediately when I click on certain ships so I'm unable to revert them to Not Set.
The same ships will provoke the crash when I try to remove them from the TG in the TG editor screen.
There is clearly some bug here and I've sent the scenario to Alex hoping he will find and squash it.
