I got this after watching the General Lee story on the History channel very good program, but if I recall correctly I played a demo of this a year or so ago for I remember the open part in the tutorial where you control your troops and the enemy come out of the woods.

But after that 1st bit I recall marching to a farm to do battle in the demo and when my troops were marching along there was a tune playing, in the full game when I was getting to grips with it again , when I was on the road marching there no tunes.

And though I've still to complete the tutorial I am sure there was a Road icon to follow the path of the road, I don't see it when I control my troops but when I click on the General there was a Road icon. Is this Road option only available as a General?

Since FOF doesn't have a demo, and as there is no follow-the-path-of-the-road icon in FOF, my guess is you might be confusing this with some other game.

I think I saw the commercial you're thinking of. It made me want to buy that game, too.

Well, on the plus side, "Forge of Freedom" does have tactical battles, and they can be pretty intense. You might want to give it a whirl.
