WITPEXCEL for RHSEOS Level 7

Post by el cid again »

A full set of RHSEOS Level 7 files - including pwhex - is loaded into WITP Excel - and uploaded in .zip format (because it is too big to send unzipped). This permits examination of many items - including a few fields invisible in Matrix editors.

Naval guns will never be used by ships! Strange as it seems, naval devices may be used by ships, but are "produced" either when a ship is produced or upgraded.

Naval guns are used by coast defense units. And naval guns tend to be disabled or eliminated when supplies are poor - far too easily due to the way code works. Replacement guns were apparently programmed by Matrix to partially address this issue.

So a naval gun for example in slot 005  can be used in a CD unit and also a Ship?

Not exactly. A COPY of slot 005 can be used by a land unit, while 005 itself may be used by a ship.
Some sort of technical stuff requires the CD gun version be in a high slot.

Ranges we use for CD guns include 290, 291, 452 to 461, 528 to 540, and 546

[541 is a peculiar weapon designed for CD use but used inland at Houtou Fortress - historical - this is a single
prototype weapon that didn't get produced because the London Naval Treaty made naval 16 inch guns available]

[Slot 546 is a rare US Army 16 inch M1919 CD gun not ever used afloat. Not many were made for the same reason as the 541 case cited above - naval 16 inch guns became available after the London Naval Treaty. It has more range than can be used - and in fact we do not know its range - because the longest shot was lost offrange!]
