Slightly OT: How many Matrix Games do you own?
I know this is a Random question, but I am curious to how many Matrix Games everyone owns and plays. They have such a wide variety that I find myself continually wanting to buy more and more (Maybe get some sort of loyalty discount [:D])
Currently I own:
Uncommon Valor
WITP
Flashpoint Germany
Forge of Freedom
Carriers at War
In the upcoming weeks I think I am going to buy Harpoon and one of the American Revolution Games [:)]

One: Witp
I was going to buy Harpoon3 yesterday, but after researching it, found this little gem:

No Poon for Whipple for a while.
Kind of a shame as I REALLY love that game series since having purchased the original paper version for the '86 West-Pac.

Quite a few of these I picked in Poland (my gf is Polish, I'm British) on trips over there to see her family. On average I paid 20 zloty a game which is about £3.70 or roughly $7. I was like a kid in a sweetshop when I walked into Media Markt one day in the town of Kielce and saw all these Matrix games available for the price of less than two beers. I bought them all! The most I paid was around 45 zloty for Birth of America (or "Narodziny Ameryki") as it's called in Polish. This is about £8-£9 or $16-18. Either way much cheaper than the prices Matrix charge for their own games.
The Polish company is that publishes them appears to be Nicolas Games and many of the Matrix titles are in Nicolas Games' "Wojny Bitwy Kampanie" series. In fact for 20 zloty I got a double bargain as on the cover it says in Polish that the game box contains a surprise and in each of the games I bought there was another free game. So I got Crown of Glory twice!
The only drawback to this bargain-fest appears to be that some of the serial numbers cannot be registered with the Members Area. It says the serial numbers are already taken. I can install them and they run fine but cannot register all of them. Some are OK, some aren't. I don't think that there is anything illegal in these games, at least I hope there isn't. I bought them from a large electronic/electrical shop (Media Markt) which I had never heard of before but appears to be quite a big deal on the European continent. I'm not overly concerned about not being able to register all of them as they run fine and were the best bargain I've ever experienced! [:D]
Now all I need is to find the time to be able to play any of them[:)]

Only Eleven. I guess that makes the most of any publisher in my computer career. Off hand the most of any other publisher is Sierra with 8, though it's been ten years since I bought anything from them.

Already own the older Battleground and Campaign series and TOAW.
Already own the Horse and Musket series.
Already own BTR and BOB.
No need to repurchase what I already have.[;)]
Guns of August looks interesting.
As it's the only WWI game around.
Waiting for feedback and initial patches before I consider a purchase.
Waiting for Empire in Arms.
Great boardgame.
Can a computer simulation recreate it accurately?
I would purchase the HTTR series, if it had a campaign option.[;)]
Same for the BII series.
Expand it to encompass the War in Europe, and I would definitely be interested.[;)]

RE: Slightly OT: How many Matrix Games do you own?
I only own UV and WitP
But I'm waiting for Matrix to acquire the sad remnants of Avalon Hill so that I can match all gazillion AH wargames in my closet with new computer version. Imagine: Here Come the Rebels; Advance Third Reich; Rising Sun; Richtoffen's War; Panzer Blitz; Panzer Leader; 1776; Tobruk; and on and on.

RE: Slightly OT: How many Matrix Games do you own?
I own both and am acquiring a liking for both - they have different approaches and I just wish i had more time in my life to play them both and WITP. Overall I probably have over 10 Matrix Games, but these are the only three I play - others I was disappointed with, though COTA looks good but I just don't have time for it and breathing as well.ORIGINAL: Gem35

RE: Slightly OT: How many Matrix Games do you own?
I think Roger said it well: they're both very good games, with different strengths and weaknesses. AACW has a tremendous leadership system, a decent AI, and an epic scope that brings to mind WITP. If you get hooked on the grand campaign, the game really sucks you in with just-one-more-turn addictiveness. FoF has tactical battles, state governors, technology upgrade choices, and a bit more diplomacy. Some people don't like the tech features of FoF, but I think it's fun to develop new weapons and to choose which rifle a unit's going to use. Both games have enthusiastic and responsive developers who continue to support the games after release.Grotius, You own both AACW and FoF, which one do you think is better?
