Bank transfer largely depend between what bank your are at and to what bank you wire.

This can take several business days (up to 6), without the evaluation on DRs side.

When did you wire the money last week, did you wire it inside the same country?

I will get somebody on this.

But, wiretransfers done on a Friday in Germany are usually not processed before Monday. Which would get the money on DRs account by Wednesday earliest. Now between some banks it takes up to days in Germany, which I know from own experience (I switched banks because the time needed for a transfer was too long for me).

Since I do not know which banks are involved in DRs processes, I ask again. Did they give you a German bank account to wire the money to?

I agree that DR should communicate better in this case. But I also assume that they will notify you when the money is cleared.

I bought serveral games three weeks before paying by bank transfer in Germany. I think Digitalriver uses Postbank Leipzig but i have to check this. Doing the transfer on a friday i get the confirmation mail from Digitalriver the following friday. One week for international payment by bank transfer is just fast enough thinking about bank transfer within germany needs about 3-4 for days.

Also there are enough information form Digitalriver about doing payment by bank transfer.

I have been a banker for 22 years.

In the days everybody paid by cheque, it took a while for the bank to verify the funds are available and so it takes some days to clear a cheque.

An electronic payment cannot be made unless the funds are available.

When a large corporation makes payment by electronic transfer, the receiving bank can confirm the same day that the funds have been received.

If the payment is routine in nature, the staff at the receiving end might not check until the next business day. This is because the bank’s electronic clearing process happens in the middle of the night and is administered by hard working highly stressed bankers. [&o]

In the case of a game purchase, it is likely that they receive many payments of the same amount on the same day. It can take some time to verify which payment came from which customer.

If the payment is overseas in a foreign currency, all the above continues to be true. But there can be a delay that should never exceed one day.

The delay is because your bank will have a Correspondent bank in NY where they hold their USD account. The funds are drawn from that bank to pay for the goods in USD. It is electronic but sometimes good experienced staff [&o] notice something unusual and stop and double check before proceeding. As they should. Sometimes it is not all electronic and a human error by hard working highly stressed bankers leads to a delay.

But the most likely delay is by the beneficiary. Once he has the funds, he needs to verify which customer made the payment. Please don’t blame the banks [:-]

All I can say is that we have seen some unbelievable delays in international bank transfers in the past. Truly unbelievable and it's all been in the banking system. In some cases it has come down to the bank doing the transfer incorrectly, in others an intermediate bank has "sat" on the transfer, etc.

Please e-mail me your order info at erikr@matrixgames.com and also which method you used to contact DR so that we can follow up on your order and also on why you didn't receive a response. FYI, you can always contact us at support@matrixgames.com as well.

Regards,

If your games cost $20,000,000.00  I can assure you the funds would be transferred same day
and verified same day. [8D]
