Tactical battles or not?

Post by WallysWorld »

I just bought this game and have only played the tutorial, but I was wondering if everyone plays all of the tactical battles out or do you let the AI play the battles automatically?

Many thanks for any and all replies.

It's worth playing both. You may want to use tactical for the key fights and automatic for the smaller fights or when it is obvious that one side will win.
You definately have the advantage over the AI in tactical battles. I found the game more challenging as the American to fight without tactical battles. As the British it's almost a necessity to fight tactical battle early to deal with the huge militia armies the Americans field [:)]
Hot Seat is definately made for tactical.

I've been doing all my battles in the tactical mode. Simply because they`re fun to play. [:)]

Now though as it is 1776 I'm getting a lot of small fights, guerilla style warfare so I will auto battle some of these where the outcome is obvious for speed of play.

When the main armies clash though I definately want to play it tactical as the battles are fun to do.

As James said you do have an advantage against the A.I. but turn up the difficulty very high and you`ll need all the advantages you can get. [;)]

No doubt about that especially as the British. Early on the Americans have massive (30,000+) militia armies that will just grind you up in automatic battles.
