manual

How long is the manual? Is it good, i.e. explains everything well enough to get one started and to answer questions that may arrive? I am going to buy this game, but I'm wondering if it's worth it to get the physical shipment, or just go with the download

Download it. The manual is only about 58 pages, and maybe 50 of those are really informative. However, you can get just about any question answered right here.

If you do decide on the digital download version, I recommend backing up a copy to media along with your serial number. Also, register your game in Matrix's Members Club. That way you'll never lose your serial number. I've found that when it comes to software serial numbers, redundancy is a good thing. :)

I find the manual quite helpful. Although lacking in some respects (e.g., a clear explanation of the naval screen), it has very good information on combat, technology levels, and trenches.

If you elect to download, I would recommend at least reading it over in the "documents" file while playing.

Is My English so bad you are talking about another manual's version and I don't understood??

I agree manual is quite helpful, but :

The manual inside the D/D Version is 36 pages and only 30 is really informative.
This manual is NOT "printer friendly" and in some parts missing a lot of important informations. (i.e. terrain efects on combat, missing to explain how to read units values, don't explain HQ command range,no Tutorial, and so on).

but It's true. forum's support it's great!!

Sadly I think the manual is a shocker for what seems such a good game - a real shame.

38 is right. I was thinking for the manual for Armageddon Empires, which I had bought the day before.

I thought the manual was useless.  The only hope for finding answers is this forum.

I wouldn't classify the manual as useless, though it's far from a comprehensive work. It's more of a brief quick start guide.

The manual gets you oriented and can answer certain questions, like how combat is performed and the usefulness of entrenchments.

For details of mechanics or strategy, however, I agree the forum is best.
