Interesting stuff. But I don't think this guy's elevator goes all the way to the top.

He claims that Japan should have added radar and MAD to A6M Rufe fighters and that would have solved both their CAP and ASW problems and eliminated the need for large carriers.

You are correct: early Radar could not physically have been mounted on an A6M, nor was airborne radar available early enough to have been of value during the critical period in which Japan had to win the war; MAD also was not possible to mount on an A6M at any period - and it too was not available soon enough to matter in terms of the Japanese view (that they had to win a quick victory for a war started at the end of 1941).

To this add that radar and MAD gear require operators to be effective in ASW, and you cannot have any operator on a single seat A6M. The only way to get effective ASW aircraft - in any era - is to have a multi-seat machine. This person is not familiar with the fundamentals. Chez has nailed it.
