RHS 5/6/7.7593 comprehensive updates uploaded

Post by el cid again »

Looks like we may be running out of eratta. All we have is problems with the deployment of ships and land units to implement the radical operations in EOS - that is Hawaii. I don't think it can be done under code control - but it can be set up for humans to have a shot at doing it. This is very difficult - I track changes backward to explain how they could have occurred - and if a plan made in August or September couldn't have generated the time for transit and staff planning - it cannot happen. Mobilization occurs in July - and any plan not adopted IRL needs to have been generated after a basic opertional concept had been both defined and approved - putting you in a later month.

Anyway - IF we find no more eratta to fold in - I will update EOS only at x.7593 - but not today. This is a time consuming process.

I have detected a few location issues that are not EOS related. And we have two air unit equipment changes that are not EOS related. Finally - I still expect there may be ship art pointer changes in a short time - we have people working on ship art review and it seems very unlikely there can be zero bitmap pointer issues with so many possibilities. For this reason, the next update will be comprehensive.

It will be x.7593 if there are no ship art pointer changes and x.760 if there are. x.760 is the final point for Level 6 updates. [We want Level 6 to use the same ship art as 5 and 7 do]

Someone found a supply sink problem - too large for the requirements nearby. We have replaced it with two smaller ones - and this means we need to issue an update. Since we don't have a total review of ship art - this will be x.7593

I also found task force eratta - particularly HQ assignments - and correcting these may help AI a little.

However, except insofar as EOS has ship/unit/task force/mission issues - the amount of eratta is remarkably little.
Execution time is now about 10 days of game time per hour of real time if there are minimum delays set. I use game days per real time hour as a measure of the efficiency of a mod and an indicator of how much (or little) time is being lost in error routines. A buggy mod can run 2-3 days per real time hour with the same settings on the same machine.

Does the supply synch problem impact your other scenarios, such as CVO, as well as EOS. If yes, can you list what you are going to change? Thanks.

The above eratta and enhancements are uploaded because, in sum, they are important enough that new games should incorporate them. Nothing requires restarting an ongoing game.

This might be the final form of RHS Level 6 files - it turns on wether the comprehensive ship art reviews (there are two of them happening) find any bitmap pointer conflicts or not? All IDENTIFIED pointer issues are right - and most or all of the ship art issues will be fixed by changing the ship art - which should be this week.

Note that there is a new Level 7 map art update - minor stuff all. There will be a final round of pwhex files - probably today - to complete the map development for all levels. Nothing major in any of this - just dotting the i's and crossing the t's.
