Not for public consumption at this time, i think... usually, any anticipation of a patch causes a big upheaval on the forum, often with negative results.

i think it HAS been stated that we aim to put out patches every few months (as opposed to years)...

Had to go back and look at "the notes" to see what the notes said.

What is referred to is the "comprehensive" update.

When we do a patch, we first release the "incremental" patch, which only patches from the immediately previous version. This is best for ongoing games.

After a few weeks, we release the "comprehensive" version which patches new installs from the CD or download image (v1.5 now) up to the current version. We do not recommend use of the comprehensive patch for ongoing games, only for new installs or reinstalls.

So this is what is meant by "comprehensive" update. The end result is the same, you are now running the latest version. There is no functional difference.

The next update, call it v1.8.0.7 will be released as always - when it is ready [:D] - and we have no idea when that will be. We have some stuff piled up to look at - and some stuff already done. But looking back historically, the average has been about 3-4 patches per year, so if the past is any indicator, there should be at least one more patch before the end of the year.
